WASTE-FREE on WEDNESDAY PRIZES

On Wednesday 23 October, Felicity, Arte and Lucia (from our Waste-free team) visited Rooms 3, 5 and 8 to find the best wrapper and packet-free lunch-boxes.

In Room 3, Astrid , Mason, Mia and Oskar had the best Waste-free lunch-boxes. 
In Room 5, Harry and Tim had the best Waste-free lunch-boxes.
In Room 8, Astrid , Adam.J, Hamish.B, Sam, Charlotte.S, Kiera, and Callum.P had the best Waste-free lunch-boxes.

Fantastic effort, everyone!

We needed to draw a winner from each of these classes and here they are...

Upcycling Projects for the School Gala!

·       Our Envirogroup would love to make some things to sell at the school gala, but we need some keen parents who can help us (probably in school lunchtimes.)
·       Maybe you have some skills and ideas you can pass on!
·       Please contact me if you are interested.

Some suggestions so far have been…
·       Tie-dying t-shirts to sell.
·       Making paper beads, and then necklaces to sell.
·       Making candles from old wax crayons to sell.

This is our Litter Patrol team wearing their official jackets.

These members of the Envirogroup were so concerned at the amount of litter around our school,  they created the 'Womble Club.'
Any students are welcome to sign up and clean up around our school.
Keen club members can earn badges and even become Litter Monitors.
Here is the 'Womble Club' promise:
I promise with the help of my heart
to keep the environment clean,
pick up rubbish, and
convince people to not litter.

This term,our Envirogroup has split into three teams to run a special prodject.
1.Waste free Wednesdays.This team will promote Waste free Wednesdays and find prize-winners each week
2.Litter patrol. This team will be checking to make sure people dont litter and starting the Womble club for volunteers who want help clean up our school
3.Tui garden challenge.This team will be chosing a garden area and making it beautiful.
AND REMEMBER KEEP YOUR SCHOOL CLEAN :)

WASTE-FREE WEDNESDAY PRIZE DRAW!

This week, members of the Envirogroup randomly chose 1 lucky class in the school to be in the Waste-free Wednesday  prize draw!

Room 24 was chosen and we went to find the best waste-free lunchbox from that class!
There were so many excellent waste-free lunch-boxes in Room 24 that we had to have another prize draw to find the winner!

Thank you for being such good lunchbox role models, Room 24!
 
Johnny, Felix, Charlie, Anya, Helena, Maddie, Vanessa, Talan, Liam, Reilly, Leon, Lewys and Liv all had wrapper-free lunchboxes!!
 
It was Vanessa’s lucky day and she won the prize!

waste free wednesday prize


Hi everyone!
On next week's Waste free Wednesday there is  going to be a prize for the most waste free lunch box.
Which is this awesome My Mojo stationary pack!

To try get this prize you have to bring your lunch box into school with no wrappers!

Next Wednesday, a class will be chosen at random for a spot check. If your lunchbox is the best, you win this amazing prize!

These are the awesome things you could win:
  • recycled colouring pencils
  • a sharpener that really sharpens your pencil
  • a rubber good for mistakes
  • a recycled packet of four pencils
  • a small recycled spiral (spine) notebook        
So make sure you bring your lunch box waste free!
